Morgan Colley '17 discusses her work with the FIFA World Cup and how Rollins College prepared her for this career on FOX 35.

Rollins College alumna Morgan Colley has played a key role behind the scenes of one of the world’s largest sporting events through her work with FIFA. As a stadium operations professional and venue manager, Colley has spent the past three years helping prepare for the FIFA World Cup, coordinating operations across 16 stadiums in three countries. Her responsibilities involve ensuring that every aspect of event execution runs smoothly, requiring extensive planning, attention to detail, and long hours on the ground.

Colley credits Rollins College with helping shape both her professional path and her global perspective. While at Rollins, she studied abroad in Amsterdam, an experience that exposed her to diverse cultures and reinforced the importance of international connections. Those lessons have proven invaluable in her FIFA career, where she now helps bring together fans, teams, and communities from around the world through the shared passion of football.

She believes the World Cup has become a powerful platform for cultural exchange, particularly in the United States, where interest in soccer continues to grow. Colley has witnessed firsthand how the tournament unites people who might never otherwise cross paths, creating moments of celebration and mutual respect regardless of the outcome of a match.

Reflecting on her career journey, Colley noted that she began as an intern and never initially imagined a future in sports event operations. She encourages current students and fellow Rollins alumni to remain curious, ask questions, and pursue opportunities boldly. For Colley, Rollins was a foundational part of her journey, providing the global outlook, confidence, and adaptability that helped her build a successful career with FIFA and contribute to one of the most significant international sporting events in the world.
